Rise Against Hunger
Rise Against Hunger works in countries worldwide to fight hunger, targeting communities facing high rates of food insecurity. They provide volunteer-packaged meals and other assistance, often through school feeding programs, to support nutrition, education and health for children and families facing hunger right now. They also partner with local leaders to implement sustainable agriculture and income-generating projects that support long-term solutions to food security and empower communities to become self-reliant and thrive.
Tackle Hunger/Souper Bowl of Caring
Tackle Hunger mobilizes local communities to fight food insecurity by empowering local action. Through grassroots fundraising and youth-inspired initiatives, Tackle Hunger works to help food charities across the U.S. gain the resources they need to serve their neighbors in need.
Each year, FPC’s FYRE Youth Group participates in the Souper Bowl of Caring which brings thousands of groups and food charities across the country together to tackle hunger.
Two Cents A Meal
Two Cents-a-Meal invites every member of our congregation to prayerfully contribute a few cents at each meal to help alleviate hunger and poverty. Ideally, contributions come from “living more simply so that others may simply live.” Participation is also a commitment to share with others in response to Jesus’ command, “You give them something to eat.”
